Rules

These are the Community rules, essential for maintaining a fair and immersive roleplay experience.

Note

Please note these rules and guidelines are subject to change. It is your responsibility to stay up to date.

General Rules

1. Stay Updated

Regularly check our Discord for any updates or modifications to the rules. It's your responsibility to stay informed.

2. No Erotic Roleplay

Explicit or sexually suggestive content, including nudity or lewd materials, is strictly prohibited. This extends to all forms of erotic roleplay (ERP).

3. Encouraging Rule Breaking

Do not influence or encourage others to break the rules. If you engage in such behaviour, you may face similar consequences.

4. Sensitive Topics

Real-life events such as suicide, terrorism, pandemics, and mental illnesses are not permitted in roleplay. We prioritise the well-being and safety of our community members and aim to create an enjoyable, inclusive environment.

5. Roleplay Consent

Roleplay should proceed unless all participants agree to pause or stop. Respect the consent and comfort of everyone involved, and address any discomfort through open communication.

6. Appropriate Names

Avoid using explicit or offensive names on any ITRP platforms.

7. Zero Tolerance Policy

Racism, trolling, discrimination, homophobia, and sexism are not tolerated. Treat everyone with respect and equality.

8. Derogatory Terms

The use of derogatory language, including terms such as 'retard,' is strictly forbidden.

9. Respect Across Platforms

Do not engage in harmful behaviour or attacks on members in other Discord servers, YouTube, Twitter, or any other platform. Conduct yourself responsibly both within and outside our community.

10. Content Creator Responsibility

Content creators must actively moderate their communities. Neglecting to prevent harmful behaviour may result in a ban. Your cooperation in maintaining a safe and respectful space is vital.

Account And Character Guidelines

1. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activities and actions that occur under your account. It is essential to keep your account secure and to use it in line with our community guidelines and rules. Unauthorised use or misuse of your account may result in consequences.

2. No Buying or Selling Accounts

The buying or selling of accounts or valuables from other users, unless conducted through official channels approved by the server owner, is strictly prohibited. Engaging in such transactions can expose you to risks like scams, permanent character death, or bans. The community is not liable for any negative outcomes from unauthorised transactions. We advise adhering to the official guidelines for account-related transactions.

3. Lost Account Access

If you lose access to your Discord account, we cannot transfer your Allowlist status to a new account. It is important to secure your account to maintain your Allowlist status. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication and safeguarding your login credentials. In case of account loss, you will need to reapply for Allowlist status with a new Discord account.

Character Guidelines

1. Integrity for Official Roles

Members serving as Police, Department of Corrections (DOC), Department of Justice (DOJ), or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) must avoid any form of moderate or serious corruption. This includes refraining from giving away or selling equipment for personal gain. These roles are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.

2. Character Separation

Maintain a clear distinction between your characters. Each character should operate independently, with no knowledge of others’ personal information, such as their locations, relationships, or other details. Avoid creating connections or relationships between characters outside the established roleplay context to ensure a more immersive and authentic experience for everyone.

3. Appropriate Character Names

Character names must be serious and appropriate. Meme names are not allowed and may result in disciplinary action or a mandatory name change without prior notice.

4. Unique Affiliations

Having multiple characters affiliated with the same gang or circle is prohibited. Each character should have a distinct identity, connections, and associations to maintain a diverse and authentic roleplaying environment.

5. Camera Usage

Characters with cameras can use recordings as legal evidence. If a character does not have a camera, recordings cannot be used as evidence.

6. Unique Character Concepts

Characters such as Serial Killers, Robots, Paranormal Entities, and other unique concepts require prior approval from the staff team.

7. Property Management

To ensure a dynamic environment, properties, including vehicles and houses, may be removed if a player has been inactive for approximately 90 days. This policy prevents properties from being held indefinitely by inactive players and allows others to utilise them. Logging in sporadically (e.g., once a week) with the intent to bypass inactivity requirements will not prevent the removal process.

8. Character Permanent Death

Indicating that your character has no pulse three or more times will result in the permanent death of your character.

Engagement Standards

1. Cop Baiting

Cop baiting, which involves intentionally provoking or luring police officers into scenarios without proper roleplay, is considered low quality roleplay (LQRP). This includes actions like deliberately colliding with a police car to start a chase with the sole purpose of initiating a gunfight or ambush. Such behaviour undermines the immersive and realistic roleplay experience and is strictly prohibited.

2. Money Simulator Gameplay

Please refrain from engaging in money simulator gameplay, where the focus is solely on accumulating wealth rather than participating in meaningful interactions and roleplay. This type of gameplay prioritises monetary gains over social engagement and immersive experiences. We encourage players to build relationships and create dynamic roleplay scenarios that extend beyond financial pursuits.

3. Cooperation with EMS

Refusing to respond to or cooperate with EMS staff can lead to severe consequences, including possible removal. It’s important to engage with EMS staff as part of realistic roleplay scenarios.

4. Fail/Low-Quality Roleplay (FailRP) Guidelines

FailRP, or Low Quality RP, encompasses actions that are unrealistic or harmful to the roleplay experience of other players. While some creative freedom is encouraged, actions that significantly disrupt immersion, coherence, or enjoyment may lead to consequences.

5. Salty and Toxic Behaviour: Strict Policy

We have a zero-tolerance policy for salty and toxic behaviour, including: Repeatedly shooting downed bodies, Playing loud or disruptive music, Engaging in disruptive spinning, Excessively screaming over the microphone, Involving oneself in unnecessary Twitter drama, Spitting on or emoting disrespectfully towards downed bodies. These actions are disruptive to the community and will not be tolerated.

6. Hospital Camping

Hospital camping, or intentionally waiting near a hospital to taunt or provoke players who have recently lost a fight, is not allowed. This behaviour detracts from the roleplaying experience and is considered disruptive.

7. Scene Utilisation

Utilise scenes to enhance roleplay by adding context and atmosphere. Properly setting up scenes can contribute to a more immersive and engaging experience for everyone involved.

8. Interactions with Police Officers

During interactions with police officers, criminals must provide valid and proper reasoning before resorting to shooting. This applies especially during heightened tensions or increased conflicts, such as during mag dump season.

9. Vehicle Destruction

Randomly blowing up vehicles without proper initiation is strictly prohibited. Ensure that any vehicle destruction is justified within the context of the roleplay scenario.

Communication Procedures

1. In-Character Offensive Language

Offensive language and threats are permitted within the context of roleplay. However, insulting another character may provide them with a roleplay reason to respond with hostile actions.

2. Advertising & Cyber Threats

Advertising other GTA V communities or engaging in cyber threats is strictly prohibited across all servers and channels. Malicious advertisements or threats aimed at harming the community will lead to an immediate permanent ban. We prioritise the safety and well-being of our members, and such actions compromise the integrity and security of our community.

3. Spam Prevention

Avoid spamming identical or meaningless messages, including excessive use of the /me command. Repeatedly spamming server commands or using voice chat to produce irritating or unrelated sounds is not permitted.

4. Language Requirements

Communication with other players must be conducted in English. Refusal to use English for communication will result in a ban. However, players may use other languages if they do not violate any rules, remain respectful, and all involved parties are comfortable with its use.

5. Respect for Staff

Combative behavior towards staff or creating unnecessary issues may result in removal from the community. We value respectful and constructive interactions and expect members to maintain a positive and cooperative atmosphere. Acting in bad faith, being confrontational, or causing unnecessary disruptions undermines community harmony and well-being.

6. Voice Communication Standards

Excessively loud or offensive language directed at individuals is not tolerated. If a staff member determines that a player is misusing the in-character exception for offensive language, they have the authority to request that the player cease such behaviour.

7. Microphone Quality

Players using low-quality microphones or voice changers that negatively impact overall voice quality will be addressed through a ticket system. This process helps us assist players in resolving issues or provide guidance to improve clarity.

8. Out-of-Character Conduct

Out-of-character offensive language, threats, or racism are strictly prohibited. Death threats towards individuals are unacceptable and will result in severe consequences.

OOC Terminology

1. OOC Discussions

Out-of-character (OOC) discussions and conversations should be conducted in Discord channels and are prohibited while in-game. This helps maintain immersion and focus during roleplay sessions.

2. Immersion

The use of immersion-breaking language is strictly prohibited. Immersion is crucial to the roleplaying experience, and words or phrases that disrupt this immersion can detract from the overall enjoyment for everyone involved. Choose language that aligns with the roleplaying context and enhances the experience.

3. No Mentions of Other Cities or Counties

You are not permitted to mention or refer to other “cities” or “counties” within our community. This helps maintain the internal consistency of our roleplay world.

4. Avoiding False Connections

Referring to other characters as “cousins,” “alter egos,” or similar terms is prohibited. We aim to keep a clear distinction between characters and discourage the creation of false connections or relationships.

5. No Staff References

Using phrases like “the government” or “look to the skies” to refer to staff members is not allowed. This helps prevent immersion-breaking and maintains the integrity of roleplay.

6. Spiritual and Mental Concepts

Discussions or terminology related to spiritual or mental matters are not permitted. This helps keep the focus on the roleplay experience and avoids disruptive or irrelevant content.

7. Handling Bugs

Continue with the roleplay and adapt to the storyline despite encountering bugs or technical issues. If you encounter issues like cars being “ghosted” or scripts malfunctioning, work around them temporarily. Report the bug through the appropriate channels to help the development team address and resolve the issue.

8. Respectful Roleplay

Using words like “weird” or “strange” to describe someone's roleplay in a derogatory manner is not allowed. Maintain respect and constructive feedback in all interactions.

9. Avoiding OOC Criticism

Hinting at or telling law enforcement characters that they must be bored with their role is considered OOC terminology and is prohibited. This type of commentary disrupts immersion and roleplay flow.

Report

1. Using the Discord Ticketing System

We encourage players to use the Discord ticketing system to report any incidents involving other players, whether they occurred in the past or are happening in the present. The ticketing system provides a formal and organised method for addressing issues within the community. This ensures that your concerns are properly documented and handled by the appropriate staff members. Your proactive involvement helps us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all players.

2. Submitting Reports

When submitting a report, provide all relevant information and evidence related to the incident. This includes details such as timestamps, involved parties, and any supporting documentation like screenshots, videos, or chat logs. Clear and thorough information helps the staff team understand the situation accurately and take appropriate action.

3. Roleplay Situations

Staff members have the authority to request players to pause or halt their actions in a roleplay situation if server rules are being violated or broken. Such requests will be communicated through the Discord ticketing system.

4. Processing Time

We strive to process reports within 48 hours. However, due to the complexity or volume of reports, it may take up to a week to fully resolve your report. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Reporting Staff Abuse: If you believe a staff member is abusing their powers, you can submit a player report using the Discord ticketing system. This provides a formal channel for addressing such concerns, ensuring they are documented and investigated appropriately. We are committed to transparency, fairness, and accountability within our community and take all allegations of staff abuse seriously.

5. Effective Communication

For effective and prompt resolution of issues, please avoid personally messaging staff members about community-related concerns. Staff members may direct you to use the designated ticketing system to ensure your issues are documented and handled efficiently.

Roleplay Rules

1. Off-Limits Areas

Fort_Zancudo and the aircraft carriers are off-limits due to heavy security.

2. Deathmatch, Revenge, Killing & Kill On Sight

Low-Quality Roleplay (LQRP): Actions such as intentionally running over individuals with a vehicle, even if justified in-character, can still be deemed LQRP. All roleplay actions should be conducted with a focus on high-quality interactions and immersion. Self-Defense and Retaliation: You are permitted to initiate an attack or defend yourself if another player intentionally tries to harm you, damages your property, ignores your threats, attempts to resist, or takes hostile actions against you. Ensure that your response aligns with the context and is roleplayed accordingly. Random Deathmatch (RDM): Random Deathmatch is strictly prohibited. RDM occurs when a player intentionally kills or harms another player, or damages their property, without a valid in-character reason or proper roleplay justification. All acts of violence must be rooted in the roleplay context and motivated by in character reasons. Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM): Vehicle Deathmatch is also strictly prohibited. VDM refers to the intentional use of a vehicle to kill or harm another player, or damage their property, without valid in-character justification. Using vehicles as weapons or running over individuals should be avoided unless it is logically justified within the roleplay context. Even with a valid reason, using vehicles in this manner may still be considered Low-Quality Roleplay (LQRP) and should be approached with caution. Initiating Roleplay: Before engaging in any shootout or violent confrontation, you must initiate roleplay interactions with the involved parties. This involves verbally communicating your intentions, establishing the context of the conflict, and allowing the roleplay to unfold naturally. Initiating roleplay ensures a meaningful and immersive experience, fostering better character development and interactions.

3. New Life Rule (NLR)

Triggering NLR: The New Life Rule (NLR) is activated when a player becomes incapacitated and either respawns or is treated at the hospital. The cause of incapacitation is irrelevant to this rule. Return to Scene: Once a player has been incapacitated, they must wait 30 minutes before returning to the area where their character was incapacitated. During this period, they are prohibited from returning to the scene to collect evidence, loot bodies, or engage with the area in any capacity. Hostile Actions: Players cannot take hostile actions against the party responsible for their incapacitation for a period of 60 minutes. This cooldown applies to any form of retaliation or aggressive actions directed at those involved in their previous incapacitation. Post-Scenario: If you are downed in a scenario that has concluded, you are still not allowed to return to the scene for any reason, including collecting evidence or loot. This ensures that the resolution of the scene remains consistent and immersive.

4. Combat Roleplay Logging

Disconnecting and Respawning: Players are prohibited from disconnecting or respawning during a roleplay or combat situation that could have in-character consequences. This rule is in place to ensure the continuity and fairness of ongoing scenarios, preventing players from avoiding repercussions by abruptly leaving or respawning. Game Crashes and Disconnections: If a player experiences a game crash or disconnection during a roleplay or combat scenario, they are expected to make a genuine effort to reconnect to the server as soon as possible. Upon reconnecting, players should resume their roleplaying scenario and integrate back into the ongoing roleplay to maintain continuity. Use of Emotes: During combat situations, the use of emotes (such as passout, sleep, etc.) to gain an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited. Emotes should not be employed to manipulate or disrupt the outcome of combat scenarios.

5. Metagaming, Powergaming, Torture RP

Metagaming: Definition: Metagaming involves using real-life information obtained outside the game to gain an unfair in-character advantage. This includes acquiring information about another player's location or identity from external sources like streams or name tags. Consequences: Engaging in metagaming to gain a tangible in-game advantage is a serious offence and is subject to stricter penalties than accidental metagaming. Accidental metagaming, such as mistakenly addressing a stranger by their character name, while discouraged, is less severe if unintentional. Streaming: While in the city, players are not allowed to appear in livestreams (e.g., Discord, Twitch, Facebook Gaming, YouTube) of other players who are also in the city. Powergaming: Definition: Powergaming refers to roleplaying with mechanics or abilities that do not exist within the game, or forcing other players into situations where they have limited or no choices. It disrupts immersive and collaborative roleplaying by ignoring the game world’s boundaries and limitations. Examples: Using the /me command to force outcomes in your favour rather than allowing open ended roleplay interactions. Spam jumping to accelerate movement. Placing a stash or other furniture outside the visible area of a player-owned property. Escorting, cuffing, or carrying someone to gain an unfair advantage over a player who is not downed. Using a vehicle to flip over another vehicle. Spamming the attack/melee button on someone. Intentionally dragging a player around to avoid roleplay or cause annoyance. Prohibited Vehicles: Vehicles with unbreakable windows, extremely small windows, covered fronts, or those providing an unfair advantage in shootouts are not allowed for criminal activities. Torture Roleplay: Consent: Torture roleplay must have explicit consent from all parties involved. Consent should be clearly obtained through a /me command before engaging in such scenarios. Discomfort Response: If the player being tortured expresses discomfort or objections during the roleplay (e.g., /me Not ok with that), the scenario must be immediately concluded without further escalation.

6. Prison Roleplay

Breaking out of prison as a lifer is strictly prohibited unless you receive specific approval from the staff team. Lifers are expected to fully embrace their role and avoid any attempts at escape after an initial period. To explore the possibility of a prison break, you must submit a ticket and obtain staff approval. Maintain the mindset of roleplaying as if Department of Corrections (DOC) personnel are always present, even if no players are online. This helps ensure a consistent and immersive prison environment, reflecting the realistic depiction of the prison setting. Valid Purpose and Planning: Breaking into prison without a valid reason or a well-thought-out plan is considered Low-Quality Roleplay (LQRP). This includes unauthorised use of the teleport mechanic at the interaction booth to leave the prison if you are not an active prisoner. EMS Personnel: EMS personnel are allowed to transport individuals out of the prison for medical procedures that cannot be performed within the prison's medical centre.

7. Private Discords

Adherence to Rules: All ColMexRP-related Discord servers with in-character channels must follow ColMexRP Rules and Guidelines for consistency in roleplay. Channel Designation: Owners of private Discord servers must clearly indicate which channels are in-character. Business and Gang Links: Businesses and gangs must post their Discord invite links in the designated sections of the Main ColMexRP Discord. Staff Access: Staff may require access to private Discord servers for compliance with metagaming rules. Refusal can result in consequences for the group. Evidence Submission: If staff requests screenshots for a report, involved parties must provide accurate and complete evidence to ensure fair investigations. Staff Presence: Removing staff from your Discord server is not allowed unless the staff member is no longer associated with your group.

Crime And Gangs

1. Gang-Specific Gear

You may not use gang-specific clothing, flags, or liveries that you could not realistically acquire unless they have been obtained through roleplay. This maintains realism and consistency in gang roleplay.

2. Gang Roleplay Diversity

Gangs in our community are not limited to constant conflict and violence. We encourage players to embrace originality and creativity when developing their gang concepts. Gangs can pursue a variety of objectives, such as specific activities, unique identities, or cooperative ventures. While conflicts and rivalries can be part of the gang dynamic, there is ample room for diverse storylines and interactions. We support exploring different avenues, allowing originality and creativity to flourish in gang roleplay.

3. Roleplay Before Combat

Players are expected to initiate roleplay and use verbal communication before resorting to shooting or engaging in combat. Prioritise roleplaying and dialogue to resolve conflicts, even if tensions arise from social media or other out-of-game platforms. Face-to-face interactions contribute to a more immersive and engaging roleplay experience.

4. Gang Handbook

All necessary information about gangs and the application process is detailed in the Itrp Gang server.

Criminal Activities

1. 5-Man Rule

Criminal activities are limited to a maximum of five participants at a time. This rule ensures balanced and fair scenarios without external assistance or intervention. The five participants involved initially are the only ones allowed until the situation is fully resolved. This restriction includes prohibiting additional individuals from providing information, acting as lookouts, or using radio communications to influence the scenario. Gangs must also avoid bringing a scenario to their turf or near it if this would violate the 5-man rule.

2. Mechanic Restrictions

During criminal activities, mechanics are prohibited from using their F1 menu or any job-specific abilities. This helps maintain the integrity of the roleplay.

3. Independent Groups

Separate groups are not allowed to collaborate on different objectives during criminal activities. Each group must operate independently and adhere to their respective timers.

4. Prison Transports

Attacking a prison transport is considered a separate scenario from the original arrest incident. When doing so, you may assemble a new group of up to five individuals specifically for this purpose.

5. No Fake Hostages

Fake hostages are strictly prohibited. All criminal activities, including robberies, must adhere to established procedures and guidelines to ensure a fair and immersive experience. Creating fake hostages undermines roleplay integrity and can lead to confusion.

6. Robbery Planning

For activities such as Drug Runs, Fleeca Bank, G6, Paleto Bank, and the Pacific Standard Vault, participants must have a well-thought-out robbery plan. Evading the police merely by driving until they lose sight of you is not acceptable. We encourage detailed and creative strategies to enhance the roleplay experience.

7. Robbing Players

Robbing other players is allowed but must be done with high quality roleplay and a justified context. Use appropriate commands, like /me takes cash from pockets, to enhance the roleplay scene. There is no cap on the amount taken, but focus on the quality of roleplay rather than the loot.

8. Cooldown Periods

After participating in robberies or car boosts, players must observe cooldown periods: Store Robberies/Car Boosts: 45 minutes, Vangelico Robberies: 90 minutes, Fleeca Robberies, Bank Trucks, Drug Runs: 120 minutes, G6, Paleto Bank, Pacific Standard Heists: 180 minutes Cooldowns apply collectively, meaning participating in one robbery starts the cooldown for all specified activities.

9. Robbing Restricted Areas

Places with 'teleport' options are off-limits for robbing players.

10. Scamming Rules

Scamming must be conducted through in-game roleplay interactions with a valid roleplay reason. Scamming solely for profit or conflict without a legitimate basis is not acceptable. Engaging in scams using unauthorised menus or teleporting, except for the F2 inventory menu, is prohibited. Exploiting server functions to gain an unfair advantage in scams is also not allowed.

11. Government Employee Robberies

Robbing government employees (PD, DOJ, EMS) solely for their belongings is prohibited. Respect for these roles and fair play is crucial for maintaining a positive role playing environment.

12. Interfering in Robberies

Interfering in ongoing robberies is generally prohibited unless specific circumstances apply: Gangs may interfere with store robberies if the establishment is with in their turf. Store owners have the right to intervene if their store is being robbed. Interference for revenge, such as targeting those who took a friend hostage, is not allowed.

13. Pre- and Post-Restart Restrictions

Robbing Pacific Standard, Paleto Bank, Fleeca Banks, Vangelico Jewelry Store, or initiating Drug Runs is prohibited within 60 minutes before and 30 minutes after a server restart. All forms of crime, including house robbing and drug dealing, are banned within 30 minutes before and after a server restart to ensure a smooth transition.

14. Shooting Cooldown

There is a 90-minute shooting cooldown for all scenarios, regardless of type.

15. Camping Restrictions

Camping or staking out an area to start or commit a crime is prohibited. While you may check or assess an area, you must leave for at least 5 minutes before returning.

16. Unscheduled Restarts

In the event of an unscheduled server restart or crash, wait 15 minutes before resuming criminal activities.

Cheating And Exploiting

1. Prohibition of Unfair Modifications

The use of game modifications and enhancements that provide unfair advantages is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, increased speed, no night vision packs, gumballs, health regeneration, teleportation, or similar modifications. Fair gameplay is essential to our community, and any player found using such modifications will face a permanent ban without prior warning. We are committed to maintaining an equitable gaming environment for all members.

2. Permissible Modifications

Players may use visual enhancements or other game modifications provided they do not offer an unfair advantage or disrupt gameplay balance. Modifications that only alter the appearance of the game, without affecting gameplay fairness, are allowed. Additionally, binding keys to server commands or text messages for convenience is permitted as long as it does not grant an unfair advantage.

3. Macroing Prohibition

The use of third-party software or hardware to automate actions, known as macroing, is strictly forbidden. Engaging in macroing to gain financial benefits or bypass AFK scripts will result in a ban. Any property or experience gained through macroing will be revoked. We are dedicated to maintaining a fair and balanced gaming experience, and macroing undermines this integrity.

4. Shadow Settings

Using settings that disable shadows is considered an unfair advantage. All players must have shadows enabled to ensure a level playing field.

Exploiting Bugs

1. Prohibition of Bug Exploitation

Exploiting client or server bugs is strictly prohibited. This includes any activities that abuse these exploits. Engaging in such behaviour will result in a ban from the server, and any benefits or items gained through exploiting will be promptly removed.

2. Spawn Camping

Camping animal and vehicle spawns to repeatedly exploit their appearance is considered a form of exploitation. We aim for a natural and immersive gameplay experience where encounters happen organically. Repetitive behaviour designed solely to exploit spawn points disrupts the balance and fairness of the game. We request that players avoid such practices and let the game evolve naturally to maintain a dynamic and authentic environment.

3. Emote Cooldown Bypass

Circumventing the emote cooldown using the F8 menu or any other method is not allowed.

4. Bug Reporting

All bugs should be reported on our Discord. This helps us address issues promptly and maintain a smooth gaming experience for everyone.
